Sorry to hear this from both of you. I had a similar situation last year. My dad learned that he had about 90 days to live last April and passed away Memorial Day weekend last year. Keep your head in the game, but use it as a reminder that some things in life are more-important than tests. I ended up failing Band 8 last year – the news that I would have to go through the study S#$% for another year crushed me initialy, but the year passed and I survived it. Buckle down for the next few days, but keep cool as well. Things will work out the way that they need to. Good luck to both of you!

Happened to me a few years ago before level 2, my Dad needed open heart surgery the Tuesday before i was set to take L2. I withdrew from the exam and the CFAI and Schweser will provide you with free admission to take it the following year.
