I am planning to have like 25 days for revesion(i.e to go through the whole material ) with average 6 hrs per day , is this ok ? ,can i leave only 1 week=45 hrs for practicing sample and mock exams …
Definitely wouldn’t recommend that…
What it is the problem with such plan …?
The CFA recommends at least a month of review. Revision is good, but you should spend more of your time on questions from a 3rd party vendor, and mock/sample exams from CFA. There is to much material for you to retain and lock in your brain in a single week. It is possible in a 2 week session if you could do solid 4 - 6 hour days. This is just my opinion, and you should do what you feel is right for you. Just keep in mind those who passed December seem to have left at least 4 weeks where they were just plowing out questions and memorizing trivial components of the curriculum.
no cfaowtown , my situation now is as follows i covered ehtics ,economics ,FSA For which my retention is about 60 % ,am going to finish the first review by end of april .then i have 25 days for secound revesion 18 for going through material again , 7 for just solving exams ,and my average hours per day will be like 5 to 6 hours
My mistake parac0da. 5 - 6 hour per day for 7 days sounds about right for the amount of hours recommended for final review, assuming you can retain for that long. Your strategy in that case is similar to mine, except I am putting in 3 weeks of question review and drill down on topics at around 5 - 6 hours a day. If its a second review for you though, I can’t see the harm in retaining the information. Don’t you think it would be better to focus on the material you have identified as your weakest areas? It’s good to do a thorough review, but it would be more beneficial to focus on those areas which you are consistently weak on. That is, unless your straight across the board good at all the primary components? But hey, your done Ethics, Economics and FSA which is 45% of the exam. Good pace so far. Keep it up!!
About 78 days remaining! I finished all the readings (just Schweser) + end-of-chapter practice questions. I’m hoping to go over everything again + Secret Sauce + make notes, and then hope to take my first practice exam sometime in late April.

That’s basically what i’m in the process of doing, but this will be my second pass through secret sauce and making notes.
hope to finish by end month. just ordered Q bank hope it will be here by then. i plan to review an SS a day while doing Q Bank during April. May i’ll just do Q Bank every day like my life depends on it. all systems go!
Hey cfacowtown, my original plan was to make notes in the Secret Sauce as I make my second pass through (which l’ll be doing this weekend), but I’m finding a lack of white space to make those notes… How are you finding the Secret Sauce so far?

i’ll definitely do the free sample exam CFA gives you. i’m a bit tight for cash so i’ll design my Q bank questions in a way that will make it seem like a mock exam. i’ll have an entire mock day to simulate the actual exam day. starting at 9. doing a morning session with the same number of questions, take a break, and do an evening session. what’s your plan?

I find it very well summarized, but lacking some of the formulas/charts I thought would be a for-sure lock. Either way i’m pretty impressed with it. I made quite a bit of notes on the sides of the CFAI & Schweser books, i’ll probably skim through those and make some quick notes to compensate for the lack of room you mention in the margins of Secret Sauce. I’ll likely also spend some time pouring over the CPH, quant and FSA if time allows.
I haven’t formulated a review plan of sorts yet, I know I want to go through all 6 schweser exams I have, plus all the CFAI sample/mock examples, plus empty the 2000+ questions from qbank. Also I have been doing the problems from schweser/CFAi, but I plan to review the questions i marked as (H = Hard) or (W = Wrong). Beyond that, I really want to get a stronger grasp of the theory behind FSA, and memorize the harder components of GIPS and CPH. I feel like I am pretty strong in ethics and weakest in Quant and FSA, which at this point is not such a bad thing, but come exam day wouldn’t be good at all. Lots of directions to go I hope to start seeing some sort of narrowed down focus mid april, but until then I am going to drill drill drill.
