Level 1 Dec 2013 Brisbane

Hi,

I am looking for a study partner/group to do level 1 Dec 2013. It helps to have someone there to study with and to ask/discuss content when in doubt. Can you let me know either here or email at hnt584@yahoo.com.au?

I am also available on skype, ID is c.tran09

Cheers

I’m in Sydney and about to pull the trigger on signing up for the Dec 2013 L1 exam.

Not sure if theres anyone down here doing it, or indeed what support there is…are you following the standard Curriculum you can buy on the cfa website or using Kaplan?

Hi mulac,

I think I’ll be using CFA curriculum but will probably use additional resources as well to see how things explain in a different way. Not sure which addtional resource is good though.

What about you? when are you thinking of registering for it? I want to finish the materials two months before the exam to give me time to go over the weak chapters. There are a lot to absorb in, so just wanted to make sure I have enough time for practice questions.

What do you think?

Yeah same. I’m in the process of reading as much as I can. Managed to get my hands on a curriculum from a friend so having a look at that.

Planning on registering for the Dec exam this week though so its locked in and I can focus.

Since i’m working full time in a pretty intense job my plan is to spend 1-2hrs a day Monday-Friday and then Sundays for 2-3hrs just reading the curriculum and trying the end of chapter questions.

Plan is to finish the entire curriculum readthrough by end of May and then spend my time hammering questions, doubling back on the area’s i’m weakest in.

What order are you hitting the chapters? I havent seen anyone else from Sydney doing this so a little bit scary!

Also are you using ebooks? I’ve got my ipad setup to read pdfs which i’m hoping will get over the psychological impact of having massive books to wade through!

Calum

Hi Calum,

Where are you up to your readings? I’ll start on the readings this weekend and do the end of chapter questions as I finish each chapter. So I’ll be starting with Ethics, going in the order of the curriculum.
