Level II re-taker here. Where do I find the vignettes that CFAI had last year? I found the new “study session practice questions” on the CFA website (https://study.cfainstitute.org/app/cfa-institute-level-ii-question-bank#quizzes), but there are so few questions here. For example they had like 20 vignettes for FRA last year, translating to 120 total questions. Constrast that to the 66 questions available on that link; or nearly 50% less.
Are they in the same format as the old vignettes? If not then where are those ‘old’ vignettes? Frankly the amount of questions offered on the CFA website right now is unacceptable and I need to know where I can find the older content.
I saw on the CFAI website that the old “Topic Tests” have been replaced with these new study session practice questions. I have only taken the Quant questions (all 30 of them), but they are a series of vignettes. Essentially, the quant was 5 vignettes of 6 questions a piece (mimicking how the exam will be). There aren’t as many vignettes as previously when they had topic tests, but I am assuming they reduced the number of topic tests, due to some of them being antiquated and not as helpful. Several of the topics have changed, been removed or added over the years, so some of the topic tests may not be helpful to candidates. Just my opinion though.
I would say Schweser Question Bank, EOC in CFAI Readings, CFAI Mock Exams, Schweser Mock Exams, Local Chapter CFA Mock Exam (typically 3 months before actual exam) will help you to prepare. Obviously, complete these vignettes, but you won’t have as many as previously given.
