A slight increase in leverage of a firm reduces Agency Costs??? Am confused. Please help.
Firms with higher leverage generally have lower agency Costs. The intuition i think is; with higher leverage, management has an obligation to deliver on the borrowed money; hence shareholders have to pay less to make them allign with creating value for the firm. Thats my understanding.
