Can someone post the weightings of each portion of the exam. I’m trying to decide which parts to disregard due to time constraints. Thanks for your help.
CFA Exam Topic Area Weights Topic Area Ethical and Professional Standards (total) 10 Quantitative Methods 5-10 Economic 5-10 Financial Reporting and Analysis 15-25 Corporate Finance 5-15 Investment Tools (total) 30-60 Equity Investments 20-30 Fixed Income 5-15 Derivatives 5-15 Alternative Investments 5-15 Asset Classes (total) 35-75 Portfolio Management and Wealth Planning (total) 5-15 Total 100
Also remember that all the minimum weights add up to 80% (16 item sets) Ethics 10 Quant 5 Econ 5 FSA 15 Corp Fin 5 Equity 20 Fixed 5 Derivatives 5 Alt 5 Port 5 For the last several years the 4 extra item sets have been in FSA, Corp, Fixed and Derivatives. This tends to correspond to the volume you have to study except for FSA which is quite short for 4 item sets. Good luck.
This is the 2009 CFA lv2 weights (REAL EXAM): Alternative Investments 5% Corporate Finance 10% Derivatives 10% Economics 5% Equity Investments 20% Ethical & Professional Standards 10% Financial Reporting & Analysis 20% Fixed Income Investments 10% Portfolio Management 5% Quantitative Methods 5%
chung i wouldn’t have thought you would be skipping out material, you were miles ahead on l1 last year
