Long Only Asset Management Comp

How much can one expect in comp (base+bonus) as an analyst for long only asset management firm with ~$30 billion AUM? I heard base is usually 150-175 with bonus 1-3x that?

So up to 700K all-in? That sounds reasonable for a non-PM role at a fund that generates a 0.50% management fee and no performance fee. Especially after a -40% year.

haha. If you’re not a PM, you’ll be under 100k base, and maybe cracking six figures with a decent bonus.

700k+?? are you kidding me?

Yeah 700K if you worked for Paulson this year maybe. An analyst is not going to receive a 3x bonus. 2 years ago you could have been making 100K in an analyst role at said fund with some decent work experience.

i would imagine 700k if you’re super good and at a super lucrative firm. But not everybody that boxes gets paid like Oscar De La Hoya.

would you invest in golden boy inc if it was a public company? how you feel about the qualitative factors in the idnustry?

If it’s a NYC firm and you’re a rockstar, that’s about in the ballpark. Depends on if you are just pitching ideas or really managing all the stocks of a sector.

$700k /??? that is so 2006

Naah; I know of an All-Star who pulled 1.2MM in 08.

ive seen those numbers but you have to be head of research in a firm

Research Analysts at Fidelity have a base of 175K- 200K

yeah, and they just doubled their position in Citi awhile back…they must be worth every penny…
