Basically what Yayywork said. These ponzi scheme tupperware party / mary kay style things have proliferated among stay at home moms where these smaller companies are all selling their leggings (yoga pants) through moms to other moms. It’s come to the point where my wife is getting inundated with in person and online “parties” to sell these things. I’m actually surprised in hindsight that this development managed to fly under the radar, but that’s mostly because I’d already completely forgotten about lulumon. In my mind, from what I’ve seen and heard, maximum saturation has been reached with these knock off companies, which leads me to think we’re nearing the end of the yoga pant trend. It’s become so ubiquitous that it’s almost become slobby / trashy. Plus, I think I’ve become desensitized to it.
obviously fashions evolve over time and cycle in and out, but I could always see them hanging around in some fashion due to the fact that women love how comfortable they are and they can get away with wearing them in most situations. Its like basketball shorts for guys
I understand that we’re in a tough environment for retailers, but comps probably could have been a lot less negative if they hadn’t recalled those sheer black luon pants. Male fans around the world demand that the company get to the “bottom” of this.
definitely past peak yoga pants…it’s when ‘body conscious’ people start wearing them that the fad fades (or basically when it reaches the masses - no pun intended). I’d say every time you see a fatty squeezing into a pair and checking out her cottage cheese ass to see if she looks good, 1 hot chick stops wearing them.
