lv2 is intense

You can choose to believe or disbelieve here. All I said is I personally know 2 guys who did it. Everything is anonymous doesn’t change the fact. I am pretty sure a lot of guys in this forum knows folks who have done it , heck, some folks in this forum might have done it. BTW, I am not qualified in any way to give any personal experience on whether this could be done or not because I have finally decided to pursue the charter [in my mid 30s lol] and sitting for L1 this December. But I know for a fact 3/3 in 1.5 years is not humanly impossible. Are those folks special? I don’t know.

You’re just trying to be a clever little smarta$$, but you’re not. 18months is the convention for passing Dec-June-June on AF and guess what? it’s ok if its not 100% logical (i.e. no studying). If you don’t like it, too bad - that’s how its referenced here.

woah, I don’t know where this hostility is coming from; I’m just saying my Harvard buddy did a couple CFA levels and climbed Everest, no big deal. lots of people have nailed Jessica Simpson too, so don’t get all defensive about other people’s accomplishments, that’s not cool. just relax, wow.

your snarky d-baggery is adding little to this forum magic

Why are there so many haters? I’ve come around and I agree; passing all CFA levels in a year and a half happens all the time, pretty much everyone does it. I researched it a bit, and I found some web site that said 97% of all CFA candidates do it first pass in a year and a half, so I just don’t know what I was thinking with my skepticism, it was just misplaced I think; sorry to anyone I offended with it. I especially wouldn’t want to tick off anyone who went to Laurier; most powerful alumny ever, you guys are a whopping huge school with like almost 10,000 students now? You’re big time brah **bump.

I didn’t go to Laurier and hadn’t ever hard of it until you wrote that. I had to google it to figure out wtf you were talking about. Anyway, glad you’ve come around, I hope it doesnt take you longer than 18 mos to pass because that would put you at the bottom 3%, ouch.

Wow, sounds like you rly don’t like me; I’m glad you didn’t go to laurier then, that’s a relief, I’m less intimidated by you now, so that’s cool. you’re right, I’m bottom 3% at everything I do actually, first to admit it right here. I’ll finish CFA in maybe 20 years, if I get really lucky. But you seem really smart; If I was CFAI, I wouldn’t even make you write the exams, I’d just hand you the charter, Maybe ask you to write a few sections of the curriculum if you were up for it? Do you want to be internet BFFs? What’s your ASL?

LOL ok packattack4, I gotta break character for a second and really nail you to the wall for your internet trash talking skills; that is terrible. “this is what happens when you do drugs” ROFL really? that’s the best you got? that’s your insult to me? LOL Holy crap, you must have been torn appart in high school. You were the dumb slow kid at the back of the class who kept his mouth shut, right? I guess it’s better to just sit there and have everyone think you’re stupid than to open it and let everyone know, so good job on that front, seriously. what’s next? are you going to talk about my mom? cuz that would be a really original type of insult that you could try, seriously, give it a shot! I DARE YA

I > DARE YA Congrats on being one fo the few douchebags who acts like this on what is generally a pretty civil forum. I would suggest all take note of this asshole and remember his actions later on when he’s struggling like everyone at this level. Oh yeah, I forgot - Yo Mama

incidentally, though, don’t let the Quant scare you. It’s like CFAJay said, its not that big a part, but ultimately, if you really understand the multiple regression ANOVA table, which once you answer a bunch of Q’s will make sense, and get the time series stuff, ARCH, and when to use what techniques to clean up the various types of errors, its not that bad. When you boil it down, its just a few subjects

MagicSky, youre a loser bro, get over it.

Hard to believe analystforum is filled with as many trash talkers as some of the car forums I visit.

Agreed, it is a smartass remark, but 90% of this forum is smartass remarks. Most people here are working and studying simultaneously, so they’re a touch high strung- AF is a good place to come and relax a bit and joke around. If you don’t like it, chances are you won’t stick around long. And plenty of people have done the year and a half route, it’s not that uncommon. It just doesn’t include study time for level 1.

I actually did think this was funny. and hardly offensive. and “You were the dumb slow kid at the back of the class who kept his mouth shut, right?” was even funnier. Packers “Warning: this is what happens when you do drugs.” was not very clever or original; very childish id have to agree

GREAT THREAD!

I actually lol’d after reading the magicskyfairy post…

magicskyfairy, are you a male sky fairy or a female sky fairy? Just curious.

JensensalphaMale, I’m whatever you need me to be
