They might be, and they might not be. The . . . um . . . fact that the source is anonymous doesn’t, in and of itself, make them fiction.
Perhaps they need to do that before you believe one of their facts, but they certainly don’t need to do that to make them facts. Facts are, as they say, facts. Whether you like them (or beleive them) or not.

There’s really a zero percent probability that an untouchable state-backed corporate media oligopoly is NOT making up sources. Since culture/law says the corporation’s lackies are “journalists” and can not be questioned, and corporate law shields them from liability, why not. No skin in the game, no downside.

President Trump wanted to make sure our aid doesn’t go to corrupt countries, unlike the last president who gave away money without any due diligence.
So . . . you’re saying that Trump’s plan was to have Ukranian officials investigate whether Ukraine is corrupt, with the understanding that if they determine that Ukraine _ is _ corrupt, they won’t receive any money.
