so you voted for trump? abstained? like i just said, this movement happens with or without trump. he can make it a peaceful transition with no bloodshed or he could take the other route. in any case, the system is going to be dismantled.
but come on, you are full on engaged in the system you half heartedly rail against because it benefits you and you can’t see yourself having a life without it. It’s ok to admit. it’s the first step towards recovery.
It’s not like you’re the only one. everyone on here serves the system to one degree or another regardless of their political leanings – the house always wins. starting to see? they want you in conflict with one another so you never think to step back to get the full picture of what’s going on. they want you in debt, unhealthy, stressed, over burdened, distracted.
think about how you spend your day. i already know what it looks like: work your ass off so you’re safe from the next round of layoffs and maybe put yourself in good position to catch a few more table scraps. gotta pay off those loans. work work work. someday it will be worth it. think of the things you’ll be able to buy, vacations you’ll be able to go on. it sucks right now, but once you get to middle management you’ll be cruising. your kids will be grown and you’ll have missed out on their youth, but they’ll be able to afford any school that will take them. one day they’ll thank you. it will be awkward to embrace them, but they’ll appreciate everything you’ve done for them.
So what if you have to work til 8, 9, 10:00 at night. It’s only temporary. When you get home, you’ll be able to enjoy a nice scotch and crank one out to the hottest new porn star after your wife goes to bed – she’s so hot and will do anything. your wife half heartedly offered you sex but you said you just want to relax on the couch. really you just want to jerk it because it’s less effort. bed by 11:00. pipes cleaned and numb. ready to attack the next day.
So what if you have to work a few weekends. if you put out now, you’ll be able to pay off your student debt early, by the time you’re 35, and then you’ll really be able to live it up. Think of all the stuff you can buy – vacations, maybe a new beamer.
“Man life really is good” you try your hardest to convince yourself every morning. “Look at all the stuff I have”. “Great job, great company”. “Fitter, happier, more productive”.
