As someone who obsessively watches college sports I generally get infuriated by people talking about their brackets. I don’t even fill them out anymore. It’s a personal problem, but it generally flares up the second a huge upset (ex. MTSU over Sparty) occurs and there’s just a flood of “omg my bracket is toast”. So what? That game was amazing, can’t we just enjoy that? This year is especially tough because so many high seeds won in the first round.
/buzzkill rant over, I’ll work on it.
Anyway, I’ve been trying to distance myself as I’m studying but the Friday and Sunday sessions were amazing. I cannot believe UNI choked a f***ing 12 point lead with ~30 seconds left. Luckily because I turned away I got to see Wisconsin’s buzzer beater but when I saw that A&M had sent it OT I thought my TV had been hacked.
Sorry I didn’t realize I was required to answer your specific question in a 3 year old topic that you didn’t create. Awesome.
To attempt to make sense of what you’re asking: score vs. correct is the difference between points accumulated (general bracket setups give you more points based on getting a pick right in each subsequent round, aka 1 point for round of 64, 2 points for round of 32, etc.) vs. number of games picked right. I’m not sure if the last two are your best case scenarios based on who you have left in the tournament or not, I have generally only played in a bracket setup based on total points.
Some folks are under the impression that UT lost to Northern Iowa in the 1st round on a last second half-court shot. They don’t realize that everything this year is CG for entertainment purposes only because the tournament was cancelled. That’s the only logical explanation for the 'Horns losing to a mid-major.
