Just a quick one - I saw a question that said with equities, if the margin falls below the maintenance margin, funds must be deposited to bring it back up to the maintenance margin level. I thought I read somewhere that if the margin falls below the maintenance margin, funds must be deposited to bring it back up to the initial margin level - > but is that with futures only maybe?
If it is futures, when the margin account has less than the required maintenance margin, deposits should be made to bring it back to the initial margin. If it is securities, only enough to bring it back to the maintenance margin level.
