The more options you have, the less committed you are to the ones you have. Common sense 101.
I disagree as this being a be all end all logic. I do agree that this may take place.
Interesting study and like some others, I’m also not too surprised. It’s easy for eligible individuals to wonder what else could be out there and whether there’s an opportunity for an upgrade, especially when those opportunities are readily available in big cities (whether it’s job, apartment, partner, etc.)
if she ever went out with me she’d have to pay for her own sh!t. i admire her resourcefulness on some level, but in nyc it’s just too competitive – too many models that are in their 20’s without the attitude problem. i would send her back to the “Next!” bus and tell her to find some foolish bro to subsidize her Manhattan Meal Plan!
yo numi you gotta hit me up next time you going model hunting or hh
Asians figured this one out ages ago, “The ugly wife is a treasure at home” is an old expression.

Nice. Thanks.
This lady Esther Perel has an interesting point of view on this matter; not necessarily ugly chicks, but the ‘options’ dilemma.
While in our current way of life, the options that are available to us from a partner point of view are endless, we have to ask ourselves how much are we actually ‘trading up’ from what we currently have. It plays into the narcissistic tendencies of individuals in today’s society. Ultimately, as this lady says, there are lots of people you can love (use this term as you wish), but there are few that you can make a life with." Something ‘better’ may not be out there, but something ‘other’ than what you have now will be.
…which brings it back to one of Barney’s best quotes (in my opinion) - “new is always better”, except i would adjust this saying to “new is always better…for the first 6 months”
