The reason I’m not eager to do a MFE is that I already have an MSF and thought combining it with a masters in mathematics or stats would just about equate to an MFE while also lopening the door to a possible PhD.
^ What kind of motorcycle?
Well, I started riding Honda and Yamaha cruisers (1100 & 1300cc), moved to a 2005 Yamaha R1 for a year (was the best thing that ever happened to me), sold it to buy a car, and now ride a 1981 Honda CB750. I’m hoping to get either a 2007 Yamaha FZ-1 or a 2007 Honda 919 now that I’m employed again.
Nice! A CB? Are you making it into a Cafe or just leaving it as a bulletproof classic? I ride a Suzuki SV650 and I love it.
I’m keeping it classic, never really got into the whole cafe racer thing. Those SV 650’s are great, a friend of mine took his across the country and back. Yeah, once I got into motocycling it literally changed my life. One of my favorite things to do. Easy to meet girls on a motorcycle, and if you take it to and from work, suddenly waking up isn’t as difficult when you know you have a great ride to look forward to. It’s like a mini vacation before and after each work day.
bump, Black Swan, what schools are you looking at for your MS?
For the MS I’m looking at Drexel and Temple primarily so I can continue to work and attend part time. Also, I’m very weak in terms of undergrad quant background so I’m hoping schools at this tier will give me the bump I need to get into a more legit PhD.
I’m looking to go this route as well, weak with quantitative also in my undergrad, there are only a few schools that admit people without solid math backgrounds from what I can gather.

I am also thinking of taking 3 weeks off before I go to grad school and taking the trusty little SV on a trip from ATL to LA to Vancouver to Portsmouth, Maine to ATL. Should be fun.
