Mesokurtic= Normal Distribution after you have, Platikurtic= fatter than Normal leptokurtic= taller than normal

Conceptually, Platikurtic has more ‘surprises’ at extreme values versus the normal distribution as evidenced by higher frequencies at the tales. Leptokuritc has more ‘surprises’ closer to the mean which causes the peaking behavior.

or plateau… meaning flatter… therefore fatter because they have the same volume under the curve.
