Migrant Caravan

How about automation which is changing the dynamics of construction? Do we really need more hands in future?

Fox is controlled opposition.

At crucial times look for them to sway the masses back to corporate-status-quo.

Under federal law, anyone from another country can seek asylum — and therefore entry into the U.S. — by claiming to have fled their countries out of fear of persecution over their race, religion, nationality, political opinion or membership in a particular social group.

there is no persecution going on for these people. they are just the regular poor people looking for better opps. they are no different from many other applicants applying for immigration in any given developing country except these people are prolly bottom of the barrel.

Yeah, also, they can apply at the border but they aren’t allowed to cross. That said what they did in Mexico was just force their way across. What’s more, if this tactic succeeds then it will become the migrant MO and grow. There’s already a copycat one that formed that is being held up by the Mexican military at the southern border. The second one just forced its way through and had people armed with gasoline explosives, guns and using children as shields. Somebody has also died. This is all based on Mexican government reports.

i can’t stop watching this

No stranger had to spend the night in the street, for my door was always open to the traveler (Job, discussing his devotion to God) (Job 31:32) :+1:

plz send me the address, so i can send every homeless person to your house. jk. but i always found religion so fascinating. rich people gave their money willingly and poor people come in droves seeking shelter. is there a religion that focuses on self aggrandizement

but anyways! bs! has it pegged. this will not end wel for these 4000 illegal immigrants. they will be used an an example and a deterrent.

Oh snap! :open_mouth:

I take care of as many sick and homeless as I can. If you sent them all, I’m sure they would leave shortly as they realize there are limited vacancies, food or money available. I will continue to help the unfortunate. I need very little.

Can you please provide a citation on this? Haven’t seen anything from a legitimate newspaper on this and my Spanish isn’t great. Seems like fear mongering though. I don’t initially believe that a caravan is using explosives, guns, and human shields. Does not pass the smell test.

There were 400k immigrants deported in 2016. 4k is 1% of the number of immigrants caught. This caravan is a blip in the immigration trend, and its confusing why its a conversation.

If this was about money: You’d be arguing that that the US should be going after tax fraud where there’s a hell of a lot more to be made than after immigrants. “Border Enforcement” is just a tool of the State to justify violence and a bloated military.

low quality people cost money. high quality people generate money in excess of their costs.

people who commit tax fraud are typically high quality people who dont want to pay what they legally owe to the usg, but typically have positive externalities. think of the situation in jersey shore.

anyways quite honestly from what i read, mexico is processing people for asylum, so the people who actually get to the us border will prolly be of even lower quality.

its amazing how much the illegal immigratiom make up has changed. it was predominantly mexico a decade ago, now the majority are honduras, guatemala, and el salvador. teh quality mix has gotten worse.

also why we are persecuting this 1%, its kind of like if someone criticizes you privately, you are less likely to overreact negatively, vs someone who is criticizing you publicly. same situation, but different reactions.

love this, it’s great

The second migrant caravan, believed to be armed with bombs and guns, crossed into Mexico on Monday despite a huge police presence.

Hundreds of migrants following in the footsteps of the first caravan heading to the U.S. border crossed a river from Guatemala.

A low-flying police helicopter hovered overhead as the migrants waded in large groups through the Suchiate River’s murky waters, apparently trying to use the downdraft from its rotors to discourage them.

Guatemala’s Noti7 channel reported that one man drowned and aired video of a man dragging a seemingly lifeless body from the river.

Once on the Mexican side the migrants were surrounded and escorted by black-uniformed officers as sirens wailed.

The second group back at the Guatemalan frontier has been more unruly than the first that crossed. Guatemala’s Interior Ministry said Guatemalan police officers were injured when the migrant group broke through border barriers on Guatemala’s side of the bridge.

Mexico authorities said migrants attacked its agents with rocks, glass bottles and fireworks when they broke through a gate on the Mexican end but were pushed back, and some allegedly carried guns and firebombs.

On Monday, Mexican Interior Secretary Alfonso Navarrete Prida lamented what he called a second ‘violent attempt’ to storm the border, accusing people of placing the elderly, pregnant women and children at the front, putting them at risk of being crushed.

Because there’s now a second and talks of a third. Obviously if this works it will become standard operating procedure for people seeking to immigrate illegally.

(TECUN UMAN, Guatemala) — Several hundred migrants tried to cross the Suchiate River from Guatemala to Mexico en masse on Monday, but were met by ranks of Mexican federal police who blocked them from entering.

The standoff on the riverbank follow a more violent confrontation that occurred on the nearby bridge over the river the night before, when migrants tossed rocks and used sticks against Mexico police. One migrant was killed Sunday night by a head wound, but the cause was unclear.

While migrants on the bridge had appeared to be preparing for a second day of confrontations early Monday, instead they tried the route taken by the first caravan 10 days ago after it, too, was blocked: turn to the river below.

The article says that the caravan threw rocks and fireworks, while having women and children lead the pack. Sounds more like a underfunded group of people that are highlighting that the caravan is mostly made up of women/children. There was no indication that the group has actual bombs or guns.

Seems more like a case of that (family guy or south park) skit where the reporterss are reporting “Looting and violence” and when asked if they’ve seen it said “We haven’t seen it, but are reporting it, back to you”

Lets try it again from the top, Mexican paper, directly quoting the Mexican Minister of the Interior saying they have evidence of this. Obviously this guy isn’t part of US politics and has the best information of anyone involved.

Interior Secretary Alfonso Navarrete Prida told a press conference yesterday that police deployed to the border didn’t have firearms or any weapons that could fire rubber bullets.

The migrants, however, did have weapons, including guns and Molotov cocktails, Navarrete charged.

“The Mexican government rejects the acts of violence on the border with Guatemala, and reiterates that the only way to enter Mexico is to obey immigration laws,” he said.

Today Navarrete said there is information indicating that criminal groups have penetrated the caravan. Further information is expected from Guatemala authorities regarding what firearms they have and what their intentions are. They have evidence of individuals preparing molotov cocktails, leading to speculation that there might be additional violent incursions at the border.

why didnt it work before?
