"By now, Mike Hughes should have already proved that the Earth was flat.
That was according to his original plan, which had been to launch himself 1,800 feet high last Saturday in his homemade scrap-metal rocket over Amboy, Calif., an unincorporated community in the Mojave Desert along historic Route 66.
From the sky, he would snap a picture to prove that a conspiracy of astronauts fabricated the shape of the Earth."
“Asked if people could still expect to see him launch Tuesday, Hughes said the weather would be too windy for the next three days — but that the launch would be within a week.”
"He built his first manned rocket in 2014, the Associated Press reported, and managed to launch it a quarter-mile over Winkelman, Ariz.
As seen in a YouTube video, the flight ended with footage of Hughes being dragged, moaning, from the remains of the rocket. The injuries he suffered put him in a walker for two weeks, he said."
Wait, everyone is just waiting for this guy to kill himself in a rocket? Why hasn’t this been stopped? The goal of his experiment doesn’t even make sense, given that we already have airplanes and balloons that can take those photos.
