Just wondering about the age distribution of CFA candidates ? (as can you tell I’ve been reading lots of quants). I’m 45 and with an IT background. I really wished I had done this 10-15 years ago. Seems like every one here is pretty young.
I am 37 years old- but still very ‘young’ at heart !!

If you’re in your mid-30s or older, I don’t really see the value in getting the CFA Charter if it does not help you in your CURRENT job path. By then it’s too late to switch job positions, for the following reasons: - Chances are you’re pretty far along in your current career. If you want to say, switch to front office, you’re going to have to go to an entry level position and take a massive pay cut. - People don’t want to hire old people for an entry level position. - You don’t want to work an entry level position where your manager is 15 years younger then you.
