For f2d: Going thro your comments makes me realise that afterall we ‘oldies’ have ‘maturity’ on our side… CFA is not ONLY to judge who knows what and how much…but more importantly how dedicated and sincere one is towards your own development… The average pass percentage is around 35%…and if I, being 40 years old, am in that 35% clearly shows to any prospective employer that I have what it takes to succeed in any particular field of financial management and MAYBE I am as good or better than any so called ‘young’ guys. For example, I am fully qualified financial consultant - CFA together with my experience will do wonders for my career…I will also aim to go into investment banking…an entry level…a CFA desination will clearly show my zeal and enthusiam for success… Passing CFA is no kids play. It needs, as all will agree, a lot of perseverence, grasping and retention powers…thats what any employer looks for, isnt it?

Even though I am completing the same designation tests as you it will take longer for me to accumulate the required experiences. I really don’t care how old someone is, if your writing this test, your suffering through this with the rest of us.

Well said - cfacowtown: Guys, I just felt what f2d wrote was quite offensive and not in the spirit of the CFA “brotherhood”…I felt the comment was uncalled for, and very immaturish… f2d may be very young but if u r young and a ‘dud’, and FAIL CFA…compared to a 40+ individual guy like me, who passes the CFA…guess who will have the last laugh?..Therefore, just being young is of no value unless you dont have some grey matter to go with it…and a lot of natural intelligence…CFA is by no means an exam where you can ‘cram’ things up and pass…
