MLB postseason

It’s right around the corner. The AL wildcard race is the most intriguing story line right now. I could see it being any of the tree teams although I have to thin Boston will be able to hold on. The other AL race is for the second best record. The Tigers had been the hottest team in the league but the Rangers offense is clicking on all cylinders now (they now have the highest team batting in the league) and they are both sitting at 89 - 65. Looking at the schedules the rest of the way out, I think Detroit will finish ahead of Texas. I can’t see much of a possibility that the Phillies don’t make it to the world series. The Yanks are the easy pick out of the AL but Detroit and Texas are playing as good as anyone in the league right now. The Yanks with CC and the Tigers with Verlander have the two best pitchers which is huge in a 7 game series but the Ranger (with Cruz now back in the lineup) have the deeper lineup and the hottest offense right now top to bottom.

Phils fan here. They have been slumping lately, hopefully getting healthy for NLDS. I don’t really care who they play as I think they match up well vs. pretty much anyone. BTW, my fantasy football team name this year is “Pierce & Pierce: Murders & Executions” so I like the reference

Any team that can roll out three aces in a postseason series is virtually unbeatable. I’m not saying the Phils can’t lose a series but it’s awfully hard to see how.

Boston blow up - so fun to watch.

So much can happen today. I’ll be watching a lot of games tonight to see how things shake out.

This Red Sux meltdown is freaking epic. I still think they will make it in though.

Phils fan here and they should have a pretty easy go of the NL (said that last year too unfortunately), but the Yankees do scare me a bit in the WS. Those SOBs can hit.

Those SOBs can hit. The Yanks can certainly hit but the Rangers are the best hitting team in baseball right now. Top to bottom the lineup this month has been crazy.

Walk off homer in Tampa, historic collapse by the Red Sox, late inning heroics from Napoli in Anaheim… What a night.

If Phils can get the offense going consistently, they’ll be unbeatable. I don’t know how likely it is that they’ll get the offense going consistently though.

GO BREWERS! Home field advantage from here on out.

I didn’t see Philadelphia losing in the first round. It just goes to show you how hard it is to make it through. I’ll be at game 6 of the Rangers Tigers series assuming it goes that long.

Cards were the biggest concern in the NL for most Philly fans. Hot team coming into the playoffs, a couple of pitchers who have had success against the Phils, and a few guys who can hit. That being said, the Phils came up small in a major way. Shutout in an elimination game? Come on.

Bet Manuel regrets sweeping the Braves to end the season…

Wow! Walk off grand slam to end a game that was close the whole way. Cruz is coming into form.

Who does everyone have taking the WS? Cards or Rangers?? I’m going with the Cards, which is nearly impossible to fathom considering where this team was one month ago!
