Mock exam

74.5% Morning 75.0% Afternoon Did terrible in ethics 12/18 each time. I think I’ve hit my peak I get the same scores even when using the Schweser QBank. What are the chances 75% on mock will equate to the real thing?

this CFA mock PM is brutal !!! Just did it and score 75% vs 78% on the AM 10 days ago. Ethics was a nightmare, my lowest score ever, 10/18, wtf… Just didn’t get the wording of some questions, too tricky

Overall, the exam wasn’t the easiest, nor the hardest (in my opinion). I scored pretty well on it. A couple more days to do the grind, and that’s all she wrote!

I had opposite experience - got 81.67% in AM and 85% in PM. Looks like i got lucky. though i took that exam more than 20 days back.

After previously scoring in the low 60s, finally got my best score of 71.67% on the CFA PM session…this is gonna be tight either way!

I did Schweser Practise Exam today (Exam 2, Volume 1). I felt the morning session was really easy. I scored 80% for the first time and was really happy. Just did the afternoon session and was only thinking WTF. It was like guessing every 2nd question… surprisingly i got 78%. These exams start making me crazy…

Close ended mutual funds calculates net asset value by subtracting liabilities from assets and dividing the result by a fixed number of shares. But isn’t Open ended MFs use the same method to calculate nav?

Thats something that I believe has been asked before. My view: Open End @ NAV (Assets - Liabilities) / Outstanding Closed End @ NAV, Discount to NAV or Premium to NAV - Based on trading price.

I think some people just come here to kinda show up, as they need that to feel good in their lives. There is always one guy who will come here like “oh noo, i keep scoring at least 80% on all my mocks, what do you think my chances are ?” If someone keep scoring at least 80% and still need people here to tell him his position, he might not be that bright after all then

In the same boat as you. Scored 83.3 % AM, but fail to 72.5% PM. got 88.9% AM ethics, but fail to 50% in PM. got 100% AM econs, then 64% PM (some silly ticks) My weakness are alway Quan, Ethic. (Quan is average about 65%). Hopefully luck will come.

Hi guys, I did the mock today and got 69% in AM, and 74% in PM, with only 58% in Ethics and Equity, 65% in FRA and QA. Planning to put extra effort on Ethics and FRA as these parts have the largest weights… I have heard some rumors that if you score low on ethics’ part, you fail the entire exam. Could someone correct me if I am wrong?

If you are on the border line with a strong ethics mark, you can be pushed clear. If not, you might get dropped. You can technically fail any section (s), and pass the exam.

I pretty sure you can fail any section besides ethics! if you fail ethics you better prep up for December 2011

No boss. I am just trying to see if i can improve - as it usually happens when you take exam over a period of time and with extra preparation. Sorry, if it sounded otherwise. I know, the scores I am getting are decent, but what was frustrating to me was that same number of mistakes no matter how hard or easy i find the exam and after i each exam i did go back to review the material which i found hard in exam.

So I think the difference is in the word ‘outstanding’ and ‘fixed’. Right?

What do you mean by “fail”? Less than 75%? Less than 60%? Less than 50%? I hope an overall score of 75% will be enough cause that’s what I’m scoring most of the time. But my personal standard deviation between different categories is quite high. So hopefully I’m not out because I only score 50% in area X and 100% in area Y. Btw: Did not feel that CFA Mock AM was a lot easier than PM. Had exactly the same score in both parts.

I had the same score on both parts too but definitely struggles more than with PM. Maybe I was just too tired. Score 78% so I think I’m pretty much ready. Let’s hope we can get some good sleep Friday night.

you can score below 50% on ethics and still pass the exam…i don’t really understand where that rumor started but w/e
