Mock/Sample Exams vs Real

Hey all, bout to take my first practice exams this weekend, then some more next week. Just taking the CFA Mock, and the Schweiser Sample exams. If anyone has heard or taken L1 before, how do the mock exams or Schweiser practice exams measure up to the real thing?

I’m not sure how they match up in terms of difficulty, but the questions are written by the same people who write the test, so the wording will be the same.

yeah, difficulty was my real question

if you look at the CFAI text, you can see the past exam questions in the back. They are all pretty similar. Most say the first few EOC’s are easier then exam, last few harder…everyones different A couple of q-bank q’s are past exam as well, but not many.

Hi Are the end of chapter qs in the CFA texts really from past exams??

If you check CFAI 2008 books, then you will see it will be marked that past CFA exam question of, example, 2005. Those are not marked in 2009, coz of shift from 4 choices to 3 choices.

I think CFAI 2009 end of chapters are worth spending some time on, especially for FRA. They do test your core understanding without time consuming calculations.

I personally did not find them useful at all (to easy). I found book 2 schweser a lot more useful, so if its a toss up, go with book 2 (in my opinion). If you have time do them all. The general opinion on this forum seems to be that the CFAI mocks/samples are worded similar to the exam. Although this may be true, the consensus on schweser exams is that they are harder. In my opinion, take the harder test and learn from it. You will be far more prepared.
