I’m sure some of you got this…has anyone considered it? I think pros are: yet another exam, exam-like setting cons: probably won’t have time to get through all exams as it is, schwesers exams too quantitative, already using schweser so if i want to try another exam i should try 7city or something like that, $50 Pass the June CFA® Exam! Gain the advantage that comes from feeling like you’ve been there. Practice makes perfect…and the Schweser Mock Exam accurately recreates the pressure of exam day so you can take the actual CFA Exam with confidence. It’s not too late to get the final preparation you need with the Schweser Mock Exam: Available live or online 6-hour exam (two 3-hour sections) Online exam scoring and score comparisons Answer explanations and LOS page references
i’m doing it live. hopefully any stress I have can be released in the mock so I will be more relaxed for the real deal-hope thats how it works
Im signed up
how much is it and how does it compare to the Stalla Live sample/review?
cost wise this test is a no brainer. 49$ vs. more expensive 375-475$ for stalla depending on the version you take. (375 -> Live Mock with discount, 475 - self study). value wise - not known, since they seem to be offering this for the first time. Stalla - is a known entity, with Peter Olinto/David Hetherington on the dvd talking thro’ each question - but from feedback not too helpful from a final exam point of view - since CFA questions are definitely more complicated, with the language and the exam atmosphere creating more pressure.
i am thinking about signing up for the stalla mock, there’s a free seminar from stalla on april 28 in NYC.
I have a new and sealed Stalla Mock with the DVD for sale. Make an offer.
$49 in nyc
just signed up - at the least its an early deadline for preparation
I’m doing the Stalla mock session
$5 in South Florida so I figured why not… 2 weeks out from real thing, should give me a great reading on where I stand…
I just called them and t hey said while it’s the first year they’re doing it in NY, they did it last year in Chicago and one other city I can’t remember. Has anyone done it before who can comment? I’m leaning towards doing it but just want some final opinion–I’m afraid it will be way to quantitative like many of their other exams and being that I’m already going to do the exams in their Book 6, I don’t want to overdue it on Schweser. However, BSOS is $149–and I have heard mixed reviews about it. Here is the link FYI. http://www.schweser.com/cfa/products/2daymock_exam.php?
Agree w/ cpk that this is a no-brainer. IMO you really shouldn’t bother doing the schweser exams past V1.
I did BSAS for level 1 last year and I found it closer to the real thing then Schweser. That being said, they’re both good prep.
the stalla live mock and review was really helpful for level 1. you take a half an exam in the morning on the first day and then spend the next day and half walking through each question step by step…sounds somewhat tedious but was really helpful. the price tag was a bit steep though. BSAS was very solid for replicating lvl 1 test. i took it live and found that the experience of sitting for a full, timed exam and doing well was a HUGE boost to my confidence last year.
basically this is 8 horus of time on a sat and then prob 6 hours sun to review everything if i want to be methodical and get the most out of it. so the cost im more worried about is an entire weekend of study devoted to this one exam when i could be doing other more relevant prep (particularly may 22, which is a bit early in that there is still a lot more prep to do)

There are only 5 weekends left. I think I will not take the Schweser mock. I already have all of Volume 1 to do, the CFAI mock, and all 3 CFAI samples. The real cost is the time spent taking this exam.
^I think there are only 2CFAI samples this year unless I am mistaken.
Yeah only 2 samples.
