In general, more opennings from Jan to April for new graduates? I doubt it for nex year…expecting more layoffs during that period and hiring freeze.

I spoke to a buddy at Morgan yesterday who said that even the most qualified applicants who are willing to work for buttons and pocket lint won’t be hired until after the new year.
It sucks for 2008 grads. I recently applied to a job and the description directly said 2008 graduates need not apply.

i think i applied to some buyside role. and it said 2008 graduates.
When do you guys think the job market will pick up for soon-to-be or recent grads? Similar timing as the general market? I know the job market is taking a big hit right now, but, curious how this will effect the hiring for entry-level positions (I’m going to be a Spring 2009 grad).
