What is your feeling ? I found the morning veeerrry long and difficult…I had to rush in order to end it. On the other hand, I found the afternoon way shorter and easier. Anyway not sure it will be enough to recover from morning pain !
It defintely felt longer than the past years and mocks
I found the morning very long as well. I rushed the last 3 questions basically doing them as fast as possilbe and without double checking anything. I thought the questions were easy, but just there were a lot of them. If I had another 30 minutes I’d have gotten a 90 on that test.
Afternoon was not that hard. I finished with an hour to spare. I was definitely guessing on a bunch of the more qualitative questions in ethics and gips, but always able to remove at least one answer.
I passed. I’m finished with this program. Lights out pussies!
I’m with Hacksaw; I’m relatively confident I passed as well. I thought I crushed the morning session; it seemed that it was far easier than any of the practice I took. Still wish I had 5-10 more minutes to review some “questionable” answers. And a watch. My dumbass forgot one …
The afternoon session was ehh for me. Going into the exam, I thought I was going to have to get over 70 on this section for a pass. Not sure I got much over 70, if at all, but I think I did well enough on the morning session to even it out.
I was surprised at the lack of overall calculations required. I know this is obviously the least calculator-intensive level, but I feel like I could have figured out all the calculations by hand.
I feel more confident now than any other level. This test was all about just taking mocks.
Agreed on finding the morning section more straightforward than what I had seeen in my prep. I was/am a bit worried that maybe I was missing some of subtleties of the questions but I’m beginning to think that really isn’t the case.
100% agree.
I’m certainly more confident than L2, I’m not sure how possible it would be for me to be more confident than L1 though. I was so happy/confident after the morning session, that upon coming back in for the afternoon, I was whistling/humming “Let It Go” by Zac Brown Band. I must have been doing it pretty loudly because one of the proctors said something like “You’re not supposed to be this chipper right now, are you?”
Judging by the comments, MPS should be over 80 since everyone seemed to breeze through it. That sucks for me.
It wasn’t that easy. Overconfidence bias on some. Easy to overlook some of the tricks they put out there.
I found the AM very hard, first time I’ve ever been pressured for time on any CFA exam. I did manage to write an answer for all the questions but a couple were very rushed jot something down at the last minute. Hoping I got around 60%. PM I found to be one of the easiest, I was very confident with my answers on about 70% and the remaining questions I could get down to 2 answers and guess from there. Overall, I think I have a pretty good shot of passing so long as I didn’t completely bomb the AM, which is possible.
Hopefully I get the ethics bump up if I’m on the bubble.
I got crushed in the AM. I came out thinking I did well. Now when I think more I realize I made many silly mistakes. However I found the PM very easy. I am confident I nailed it. So it all depends on my PM score. Fingers crossed.
It never fails… there are always people coming out saying how easy the exam was. They either studied their asses off and knew the material inside and out, or they missed the many subtleties of the questions, or fell for the distractor answers.
It was not easy. Calculation intensive? No. Overly difficult questions? No. But there many questions that referred to obscure material or were asked in an ambiguous way that left me forced to pick between two possibly correct answers.
rushing an easy test can be dangerous. you make the stupidest of mistakes on the easy questions which you would get right 100% of the time in a non-test situation.
I finished the morning with 10 or so mins to spare but I really was taking my time with the first 4 questions and I would review my answers before moving on. pm to me was a breeze. I was moving pretty quickly on the back half of the am questions - I honestly don’t remember 80% of that morning exam lol. am didn’t feel difficult but I found unlike the mocks I had to watch my time much more.
I also found I explained my answers more than maybe what was necessary. I used bullet points but found I was explaining them more than I had to (in hindsight) - for added safety. probably wasn’t necessary because if the grader is looking for “use X because of Y” then they will stop reading after you state that…
and also there were many subtleties in that exam. you really had to know your stuff and really think about some of those questions - both for the am and pm session. I found I was being quite careful with how I worded my am answers and selected my pm answers as well.
Sounds similar to me, I was on question 6 with an hour left and somehow made it through all of them. I almost took up every space on the answer page for the first few questions lol.
but if you recall the mark distribution it probably wasn’t a bad idea to spend all that time on the first half
Selfishly, I was hoping that PM would be as brutal as AM. I always do better when they grade on a curve and the exam makes everybody’s ass hurt equally.
2011 passer and 2010 flunker here. Just want to say in 2010 I was pretty sure I passed and 2011 was 100% sure I failed. Wrong each time, so if you are feeling down don’t torture yourself. Forget about it till results come out cause how you feel really doesn’t mean much.
Congrats to you all. Hopefully you can come back next year just to reminisce and smell the stress. More than a few charterholders do, I can tell you.

you bastard lol. i was kind of thinking the same thing though.
I found the AM session very straightforward content-wise but very challenging in terms of time management. I think I did well there.
PM session was really difficult for me (had to make a lot of guesses in ethics and alternative investments) and I’m hoping overall for a passing grade.
I was late walking into the exam; horrendous traffic -candidates were literally getting out of cars walking down the off ramp to try to get there on time- couldn’t quite get to last 2 questions. I was unfocused initially so I’m sure I messed up some real easy calculations in the AM. I found the pm straightforward with 45mins to spare tho’. I know that if I have to write again next year, I’m going to kill it. Agree, the mocks were great preparation
