Most important topics for the exam?

While I can guess the answers as “everything is important, as you never know what they would ask”, still daring to ask it. Since, I’m reading for the first time, which are the topics one should give special attention to?

individual IPS and ethics

Do a lot of practice exams and you’ll work it out

If you check out the prior exams published on the CFA website, you will see fairly consistent coverage of subjects from book 2 – Individual and Institutional IPS, and Behavioral. Other than Ethics in the afernoon, everything else is pretty hit and miss.

Hi all, how impt is the behavioural finance topics? They seem pretty wordy topics by which the massive contents revolve around the same things. I’m wary of just grabbing the main points and regurgitating them in my own words for the essay questions as some forumers here has mentioned that exam markers WANT TO see CFAI’s terms and wordings in answers. Hence even though my answer may be theoretically right I may not get marks, Hence Do we need to really note every word in these dry(to me at least) topics so that we can spew them out for the exams? If so my level of noting the words and terms will be dependent on how important topics are. To me, FSA topics in level 2 have finally met their match in lulling me.

Behavioral had an entire written section the year I took the exam, so it was pretty vital to know the different biases and stuff.

Thanks Bpdulog, will it be safe if we answered questions and explained theories using our own words? Or will we be given marks only when examiners see specific terms that the CFAI wants?
