Hope you guys did well… I think my odds of passing are around 65-70% There were definitely some curveballs, and I got destroyed by derivatives and PM fixed income… although, hopefully I made it up in FRA and Equity REGARDLESS, it’ll be great to have our weekends and weeknights back!! Too bad I’ll be spending all day today nursing my hangover :(((
Agreed. PM FI and derivatives were pretty challenging. Also found ethics unnecessarily ambiguous.
as usual. the cfai and the tricks they pull out…
objectivity standards killed me as well (right off the bat!), I should have paid more attention to that
Im so surprised that there was no Multinational Operations, NO intercorporate as far as minority passive/active, etc. No Triangular Arbs not FSA Synthesis … WTH happened
PM ethics not easy…FSA not so difficult Really don’t know the passsing odds of myself.
Ethics was a disaster. On the AM the first four question I had to put a questionmark instead of an answer since I didn’t have a clue. Anyway, regarding that Currency Swap. Was I missing something or wasn’t the actual answer given? I had plenty of time so I recalculated it like 10 times but couldn’t get it right. On the morning session I was done way too quickly. Left early and later realized I missed some easy points by not reading properly. Ethics was a real nightmare on this one and I didn’t study Private Equity so a full vignette on it didn’t help! The PM was quite ok except for the MBS questions in Fixed Income. Since I skipped that while studying as well. All in all, went ok. Ethics threw me off like it did in L1. If I really messed it up that will kill my chances of passing but otherwise I think I’m ok. So roll on LIII.
Some of the RI questions threw me off too… I tried looking up the answer in schweser and still couldn’t find out how to do it
I got raped on FSA…RAPED! I did not expect 2 vingettes on good accounting and the aggregate ratio etc. I don’t have a good feeling about the exam at all. Ethics was retarded and very difficult. The exam felt more like them going out and trying to fail you rather than actually testing you on what you know.
There was a question in equity on number of shared that may be traded next time. what was that about. I couldn’t figutr that out
I just took that as buy orders versus sell orders…I too was confused
there was some mention of “time priority” so i just based it on that… not sure of the right answer
Weren’t all the orders given for the same limit price? So I think he was crossed with all the buy orders.
I remember seeing that question in Schweser. I remeber i made it wrong in shweser. so I might have made it wrong this time too

i got -13700 for the currency swap…the answer was there
yeah, crazy it is over!!!
i hope we all passed!!!

Talked to others as well and they had the exact same thing. I think I got the correct answer since I did discount the payments and principal. No idea whether I kept doing something wrong consistently (another answer was the result if you didn’t discount but my calculation then was, again, twice as large). Probably got it right but not by means of calculating the exact answer.
