While i have gone thru substantial portion of curriculum, i m not sure when to start my mocks…? What was your approach? Should i just dive in and see where i stand…?
Also, did you do these exams just as the actual exam (i.e. in two sittings AM & PM) and without refering to any material/formula?
I never used any formula/material while taking the mocks. It took me 6 days to complete 6 mocks(each 60 questions).I was finishing my mock tests in 2.5 hours to 3 hours.
I think at this stage it is better to hit the mocks so that you have sufficient time to work on your weak areas.
Those are very strong scores. You’ve still got a good amount of time before the exam so probably your biggest concerns at this point are to (1) not get too comfortable and still be diligent with your studies and (2) try to nail down your test day routine so there are no surprises to throw you off – it’ll hopefully ease your test day nerves.
Regarding your weak areas (Derivatives/Ethics/Economics), those sections are the lowest scoring sections by nearly everybody. You’ve got plenty of time to improve those sections, though.
i HATE people that post scores above 75%. You know thats a good score and with close to 2 months left that is great. I’ll be happy with those scores the week before the exam.
I had no desire to show off.CFAL2 exam can be really unpredictable and variability of my result % shows this fact only(my score range is 70-85%).
Yes i have identified my weak areas and i have sufficient time to work on them because i took the mock 55 days before the exam.I just wanted to know if others are doing the same.
Last but not the least, you said that i will pass this exam easily. I don’t agree with this assumption of your’s since i have taken the mocks from schweser after studying from schweser books(may be schweser mocks ask similar concepts that are given importance in schweser note books.).Today i was going through Finquiz’s mock exam questions and found them to be difficult as it asked questions on concepts which were not given much importance in schweser.
1)I think the key is to complete the syllabus from any one source (elan/schweser/cfai).
2)Then do cfai eocs.
3)Then try and solve as many mocks as you can from different providers.
It certainly can be unpredictable, the topic weightings are very broad. I guess the point is at this stage you have so much time to touch up on your weak areas that on the day the unpredictability factor should have even less of an impact on your scores than it does now.
Can’t argue with your recommendations, good luck for the exam!
