When I registered a couple of years back, they never asked for Passport info. I only have my First and Last name on the system. On my passport, it also includes my middle name. the CFAI now says your name has to match exactly that on the passport. What happens? Anyone else have that issue?
You could send in this change of info form: http://www.cfainstitute.org/Forms/name_change.pdf But I believe in Book I of the curriculumn I saw a list of these kinds of variations, and they were all acceptable. The only problems were with chinese names and unrelated American nicknames. I can’t exactly remember where this was, but maybe someone else knows what I’m talking about.

Historically I believe on the website they always had something like acceptable if: John Doe or John “Miller” Doe would be okay. But since the January 2011 new policy, it now states it has to match exactly to your name on your passport. Not sure how this affects people who signed up in previous years and never had to input their passport info.
Send in a name change form, that’s what I did to add my middle name to their system.

Yeah, I just emailed them a scan of my license, and there is a form you fill out which you also email.

Just called the institute and they said it’s up to me what name I want on my certificate and it doesn’t have to include the middle name.
