Need Help with Caculator on Non current Liabilites

Hi, i understand the computations of non current liabilites from what i see the whole study session can be easily solved by using your caculator but i am having trouble on inputing numbers and figuring out how to use the caculator. Please is there anyone that can help? like is there a guide out there? (schweres video class is not too much helpful i have the Texas instrument BA II plus Pro, black color).

For example :

Face value $67,831 Maturity 4 years Coupon 7% Market interest rates 8%

What is the unamortized discount at the end of the first year?

I input these numbers N = 4 I/Y = 8 PMT = 67,831 x 0.07 = 4748.17 FV = 67,831 --> CPT PV?. The problem here you see is i need instructions on solving any variable stated above ^^^^ using a calculator like is there a guide to it?.

edit- like what button do i press to always solve for any variable stated above ???

I think you are doing it right - enter all the variables as you have, and then hit CPT PV. You should get -65,684.35 as the present value. Note - make sure to clear the calculator before doing a TVM problem using 2ND FV. The calculator remembers the numbers even if you shut it off.

If it matures in four years and you’re to compute the present value at the end of the first year, then n = 3, not 4; after one year there are only three years left to maturity.

thanks , for the tip i eventually figured it out

My pleasure.
