Most people who actively participate on this forum will pass. But it just seems like the higher pass rates of L1 this past June would let would-be believers into the next level and a f-ing train is about to get rammed up their a$$es. So many of them passed with all sections >70 but I’ve yet to see even a dozen people on this forum with that score for L2. This is not to discourage the new guys. It’s just if I were coming in off a really great L1 pass, I think I wouldn’t really know what’s in store for me. Now I’ve been scarred, and I’m battle-tested. I will pass in 2010.
agreed…am in the same boat as you topher
You’re right. We do not know what have been installed for us the coming months. The huge passing rates for L1 this year will serve as a warning of the difficluties of 2010 exam.
The pleasure is in the process of learning
Having really studied hard to come through L1 in June with >70% in all sections etc…I was really looking forward to learning some new material. However having read through some of the L2 posts of those that studied well and were surprised to be nowhere near the mark when the results came out, I am really having second thoughts. I really don’t understand this, band 8-10 fail, fair enough, but there seem to quite a few who sat the L2 and were rewarded with a band 4-6 for their troubles…I am not keen on the prospect of working hard for L2 and then come results time, to find out I appear to have been studying for a different exam? Am I alone with this view?
Seeing L2 results and the discussions should be enough of a warning sign for us 2010 first-time takers. I made peace with the fact that even if I put in my best effort I can still fail. But I am sure I wouldn’t blame Stalla, CFAI, luck or some other factor other than myself. The dedicated ones will pass, sooner or later.
i heard that taking the level II exam is like being a$$ raped with a large knife (like the one used in the final fight scene in Commando) while your baLlz are in a vice (like that guys head in Casino) and you have a gag in your mouth (like that guy in Pulp Fiction) while you’re standing on hot coal (like that scene in Ace Ventura pet detective where he crosses the coal)… is that about right?
I remember reading a thread full of analogies somewhere here not to long ago comparing L1 to L2. It was pretty amusing. Anyways, I studied hard for L1 and will have to study that much harder for L2. I’m aware that it’s a beast we are confronting now, but I’m ready for the challenge. Come this time next year and I find out I failed, at least I’ll be able to know that I gave it my best.

its definitely tough starting all over again when you know you just failed by 5 or 6 questions.
