I wanted to reach out to new mothers who intend to sit for Dec L1 exam to ask about their study plans. Also, if I am the only crazy one giving it a shot. Clocking 2 hours of daily studying should be enough till about a month and a half before the exam. Please share your wisdom. Thanks
we’ve had a few of those, you’re definitely not alone
yeah you can clearly do it if you have a background in Finance ! 170 days x 2 hours = 340 hours
I am not a new mom, but I also sit for Dec 2014 exam. Good luck! What material are you using? Curriculum or Schweser or anything?
I’m actually a soon to be dad…expecting the baby in November…but boy was it tough to deal with my wife’s morning sickness the first 3 months while studying for june.
I also, saw a 9 month pregnant woman at the exam taking the exam…I kept thinking what would happen if she had to have her kid during the exam…
Anyways best of luck to you and your studying. You need to leave a 2 month window just for doing EOCs mocks and other practice problems and review…got to finish your first read through before then.
I’ll be a dad in Sept and that should be right in the middle of my prep. My wife is on a slightly different track as an Engineer-MBA, but she is very supportive. I have a colleague who was pregnant when she successfully sat for Level II last year. I’ll ask her if she is on AF; perhaps she can chime in here. I wish you well as a fellow candidate and encourage you to go for it.
hey thr! Dont worry ur not the only one…am also in the same boat as you.
Well am planning to appear in June’15 as i’ve got 2 kids to handle.
Keeping it simple by sticking to Schweser. I do have a finance background but will refer to the curriculum books if I need further help. I intend to solve a LOT of questions though. I am starting with Economics since I enjoy the subject. Once the pace is set, I will tackle the rest of the material. And best of luck!
My daughter was born Wednesday June 4. My wife was more tired than I was, but during the afternoon session it was tough to stay awake.
I have just got back to work from mat leave. I am afraid I will not make it for December. So, June’15 is my plan:)
