New Rule: posting on health/fitness

You from Mass area? Also, lol.

Sure. Grew up on the cape, live in Boston, spent a summer working in p town. Unique place.

So are you claiming you can planche? I want a picture of you planching with AF Birdman written on your arm in sharpie. Mad respect if you can. Also, I’m near Worcester and we have a whole Boston crew that meets up including a get together on the 31st of this month. PM me to hop in with that.

Ehhh I’m working on it. I didn’t start young. Shits hard. Here are some progress pics. All the static poses can be held for time, the one armed handstand is shaky. And the one with the bar behind my head, you can’t see, but the hands are pretty close. You don’t get much out of having hands wide. Can extend my legs out on the planche though to straddle. Probably gonna stop with a solid straddle planche though, a full planche takes too much extra training. Much harder if you’re not a manlet.

And you honor me with your invitation, but I have a previously made engagement to which I’ll be predisposed.

Very impressive! Finally someone not just obsessing with weights lifting or long distance running…

No gymnastics background for me unfortunately but I am into it and working on it, though on a much less advanced level than you are.

met brosef at bar tonight. golden gloves. asked what his key strength was - he said ballet.

no joke, ballet.

he said watch floyd in upcoming fight against mcgregor - floyd has ballet.

he asked if i would pick up ballet - my response - no dude no.

he said my pride was holding me back.

fine. but, im not doing ballet.

^i trained with this georgian guy for a year who also taught ballet. Although there are stark differences in mindset, the flow of both exercises go hand in hand.

Ftr - Arnold did ballet too

so that’s considered a bear now? what is the story with guys all shaving their chests? Same guys that work chests every single day and end up with huge pecs that women don’t find attractive and are basically just a whopping set of b!tch tits waiting to happen. Give them a few decades and they’ll look like meatloaf in fight club.

Haha, strike a chord?

Has anyone tried GMB fitness? The Gymnastic Bodies requires pull up bars and I can’t afford to puncture my beautiful lawn so I can’t follow their protocol, but I am thinking of doing the GMB fitness thing.

Not really, I’m hairy and proud.

Just go to a park and do pull ups at the playground.

Its fine. Doesn’t have the same ceiling for strength, and it doesn’t integrate flexibility elements with strength, but its fine overall. Better than a lot of the alternatives. A standing pullup bar is also an option, as is a pair of rings, which can pretty much be put anywhere.

My Garage has a relatively low ceiling so I have to be very mindful of that. I actually have a pair of rings but don’t have a place to attach them to. If I do get to stay in the country I will give this pull up problem a serious priority and think of a solution.

Make sure there are plenty of little kids around when you do it and have some candy with you. You might want to buy a 1980’s panel van with the rear windows blacked out too.

was it this guy or Gabelogan who posted about their experiences using a kids junglegym for no shirt workouts?

Sam = Gabe (not in an everyone is RR kind of way. Sam really is Gabe.)

Why didn’t he just change his username? Is this the guy from tunisia with the fiance whose a doctor?

someone needs to sticky a thread with who is who, it gets confusing.

That’s the weakest excuse I ever heard!
