Passed! Thank you very much for everyone on this forum. Even though I just created an account, I browsed the forum non-stop prior to the exam! Level 2 here we go.
Above 70% for everything except for Fixed Income and FRA. Thought Fixed Income was going to be my forte. Spent an inordinate amount of time for FRA too. Sigh
That’s awesome! Just made my day, keep fighting brother
CFAI website down?
Yeah it seems to be down
Thanks for the link! I have been trying to log in to CFA website all morning without luck and your link magically worked.
I got everything > 70% except for FRA (51-70), which is weird because that was the part I was most confident.
It’s pretty pathetic how bad the CFA website is. They pull in tens maybe hundreds of millions in fees a year, how much could it cost to write/proctor exams and keep a website running?
Thanks for the link! I barely passed… 2 sections >70%, 1 <50%, the rest in the middle. PHEW!
did anybody encounter difficulty to load the cfa website?
Passed after spending only 1-2 weeks on preparing for the exam besides my full time job… Don’t recommend it lol
Now on my way to L2
Wow! just saw my matrix and I am so confused as to how I did as well as I did. Hard work possibly idk? Derivatives and PM were 50-70 percent (not very high weighted areas) Econ <50 which I am pretty surprised by honestly. However, what I am even more surprised by is >70 percent on everything else! Feel really good about that and probably need to maintain the same strategy heading into L2 in terms of preparing.
Spend at least 3 weeks on Level 2
Like my neighbor candidate who spent 3 weeks and passed level 2.
phew I wonder how i passed, FX, Derivatives and QM under 50%, Alt, CF and Equity above 70%, the rest between 50 and 70%, i’m pretty sure I got the MPS by 1 question lol, also pretty disappointed with my Ethics score
Ok wonderboy, I don’t believe you at all. You are may just be the dumbest and smartest person in this forum, or just a liar.
>70 in all except:
51-70: Alternative Investments, Ethics
<50: Portfolio management
The mid band wasn’t very surprising, I only did a light reading of alternative investments, and rushed through the ethics handbook for the first time in the week leading up to the exam (not recommended!)
Portfolio management was a bit surprising because I did not have it down as a weak area before the exam, but I’ll just have to review the topic thoroughly before moving on to L2 (aiming for June 2018)
I got >70% in all except derivatives which I got 50-70%. I skipped derivatives as a whole since I only had 2 months to study. Is it weird that im kinda pissed about it?
Just passed. Good luck to everyone
Economics & Portfolio Mngmt <=50%
FRA & Equity Investment %51-%70
Everything else >71%
Lightness’ brain has got a unique wiring which makes him " different" there is only 1 of such kind in a million… We must appreciate him for passing just after spending 1-2 weeks…
I would like to say congratulations to everyone who passed! I hope to be in your shoes in when I get my next results in July. I am in need of some advice. Attached below is my score, I ended up failing with band 9. This exam I used Kaplan 2016 books. Should I upgrade to 2017 books or will my 2016 books suffice? Also, I am debating switching to Wiley as I have heard their videos are a great resource and I feel like I am a visual/audio learner as oppose to reading and learning. Any input on the two prep methods would be greatly appreciated

lol no. you are probably a competitive person. I have a degree in economics and scored <50 percent. crazy things can happen on test day. Lots of variables.Plus what seems like an infinite number of possible questions you can be asked. I purposely did not focus on Econ because someone told me that the readings are almost as vast as FRA while obviously only worth half the amount of weight.
Now, if I was in my senior year of undergrad? I probably would have missed a couple Econ questions max. However, being almost 5 years removed and not doing much Econ related work at my job, it’s sort of saddening how much knowledge starts to slip through the cracks : /
