im surprised the NFL didnt ‘misplace’ the footballs
To me, deflategate is worse than bountygate, yet the punishment will be far less severe.
How do you guys think this should be handled?
You can’t take them out of the SB but loss of 3 years of draft picks would send a strong message. A fine does nothing, they will just pay it and continue cheating.
biilicheat just threw brady under the bus in his presser
“I’m trying to coach the team and that’s what I want to do. I think we all know that quarterbacks, kickers, specialists have certain preferences on the footballs. They know a lot more than I do. They’re a lot more sensitive to it than I am. I hear them comment on it from time to time, but I can tell you and they will tell you that there’s never any sympathy whatsoever from me on that subject. Zero. Tom’s personal preferences on his footballs are something that he can talk about in much better detail and information than I could possibly provide.
I disagree. Bountygate was a system intentionally designed to injure opposing players. As such, it affected the integrity of the game (players who would otherwise be playing would no longer be playing, and jeopardized the health and livelihood of players. I understand football is a dangerous sport and players get hurt all the time, but having a system that financially rewards your players for big hits and injuries, regardless of whether they were penalized or not, increases the injury potential beyond “normal” levels. While deflategate compromised the integrity of the game, a very serious thing, no one on the Colt will miss next season or the rest of his career because of it. I think a fair punishment is loss of next year’s 1st round pick and suspension of Belichick for 6-8 games next year.
Bill can throw him under the bus all he wants, but the buck stops at Bill for all things related to the Pats.
Cowherd said yesterday that the best punishment would be to force the Patriots to host “Hard Knocks” for the next two years. Having camera crews in your face 24/7 would drive Bill Bellichick to possible psychosis.
^ That’s actually pretty appropriate punishment.
Genius!
Reason #3496904 to despise Cowboy fans:
Prisoner sues NFL for $88 billion over Dez Bryant’s overturned catch
The total figure is $88,987,654,321.88, with both 88s presumably a reference to Bryant’s uniform number.
In his handwritten petition, Hendrix, a prisoner at Fremont Correctional Center in Cañon City, Colorado, seeks the money for reasons including but not limited to “for but not limited to: negligence, breach of fiduciary duty, and also wreckless [sic] disregard.”
Hendrix named NFL Vice President of Officiating Dean Blandino, game referee Gene Steratore and NFL commissioner Roger Goodell in the suit. He filed “on behalf of Dez Bryan #88, all Dallas Cowboys fans, and all people in or and [sic] from the sovereign republic of Texas,” claiming that the plaintiffs “did suffer a true injury in fact when the respondent(s) did commit a fraud,” referring to the “video reversal” of an “outstanding thirty one (31) yard pass reception by Dez Bryant #88.”
Hendrix further states that the suit will prove “the simple fact that Dean Blandino, Gene Steratore, and Roger Goodell are wrong, and have stolen a victory from the plaintiffs, because the Cowboys offense would have perfectly created an “Autobahn” for for [sic] DeMarco Murray to drive into the end zone for the score and victory.”
^I love it!
comments are the best
At least the decision on who to support in my annual American football game will be easy this year…
but seriously though, why the fuck have they not been disqualified?
I have a feeling it will be a Seahawk friendly crowd this time next week.
Kate Upton and Katy Perry should be named co MVPs.
Actually, I meant Charlotte Mckinney, not Kate Upton.
^That’s going to be the most interesting thing about the game. The two least liked teams in the NFL playing in the biggest game. GHAY
