No calculator- skip Quant method onto Econ?

Hi guys

I’m studying using the Schwester Notes and just finished study session 1; Ethics and Professional Standards. I begun session 2 which is quantiative methods but found I need a financial calculator to continue- mine has not arrived yet! Do you think it is ok to skip it and continue to book 2, Economics, finish econ, then return to Quant methods when my calculator returns? Econ will take me maximum two days to get through. Thanks!

By all means.

Tally ho!

I’m going through quant right now using the CFA material. I’m basically browsing through it because I need to learn how to use a financial calculator and the CFA material doesn’t help much with that. After I finish going through the CFA books I’ll pick up Schweser for that.

I put up some videos that go over the BA2+ (the same ones work for the BA2+ Professional) for my classes.

Go to http://www.screencast.com/users/financeprof/folders/Calculators

View them in the following order -

Calculatorsettings

Calculator Lump Sum

CalculatorAnnuities

CalculatorCashFlows

Each is about 15 minutes.

when your calculator returns? Did it go on vacation?

Sit down with the calculator manual as soon as you get it and read it cover to cover, working every problem (they have simple problems but it will help you learn the keystrokes). I didn’t know how to use one either and that’s the best way.

Double post

Ok I"ll do that. I enjoy reading the CFA books and really like the way they present the information. So I’ve been considering going without any additional materials because I have plenty of time to study. I’m so glad I took econometrics in undergrad its making quant so much easier.

I enjoyed reading the books as well. You’ll be extremely happy you took econometrics in level 2, I know I was. Good luck to you!

Econ will take me maximum two days to get through.

Are you studying full-time? to finish economics in two days seems too optimistic even if you are studying full time, let alone part-time.
