no exp and LV 2 candidate - job prospects

how are my chances of getting into the industry? i have a BS in chemical engineering and 6 years of experience in semiconductors and communications equipment. i will be taking the LV 1 exam this June. Assuming I pass, what are my chances on landing a job as an analyst (covering one of these industries). what would a typical salary be? thanks in advanced.

I’d say you’d have a decent chance if you have good accounting skills and can sell yourself in an interview…

Sell-side equity research is always looking for people who have direct industry experience, although you’d start out as an Associate supporting a Lead Analyst, and after a few years of that you could take over coverage if the lead analyst leaves or could move to another firm to be the lead guy there… In a city like Baltimore, Associates make between $55K-$85K base, depending on experience, and ~$20K-$40K annual bonus… Lead analysts make a lot more than that…
