NYC in november

Any good at that time of year? Thinking about 19-23rd.

I’ve been a couple of times, but I think we’ll be eating lots of pizza and sampling some local foods that were shown on triple-D (new show really good).

Will undoubtably hit up some speakeasy cocktail bars too…

any other tips for that time of year?..

thanks

If you can pull it forward to October you’ll enjoy the weather a touch more.

Agreed. That time of November lends itself to miserable weather.

Triple-D is neither new nor good.

“Miami Vice, #1 hit new show! Stop, hammer time!”

NYC is always good cuz! Maybe you can see the touristy stuff around Rockafella. Ice skating, tree, etc may be up around then.

Weather ain’t bad in NYC. Coming from Chicago, NYC winters are a breeze. Bring a fleece jacket and you’ll be all good.

This is the portion that stuck out to me. That show is only watchable in spite of the host. The food always looks great but Guy Fieri is just a wretched human being

Birthday in November… guess we should be going then. And flights are cheap… only £300 return. Airbnb for £60 per night and we got 4 nights in NYC for £420 each…

Gotta find the best sandwiches and pizza in town and im happy.

lol… I was only joking. There was some bants in an earlier thread re DDD being a ‘new show’

The problem is that in late Nov it usually isn’t cold enough to snow, so if there is precipitation it’s totally miserable. That obviously isn’t unique to NYC, but the city just seems so bleak on cold, rainy days.

You aint selling it very well.

But luckily i have selective hearing and heard ‘it aint that bad’

I have decided that my favorite “speakeasy cocktail bar” is La Esquina in SoHo (?). It is also an upscale Mexican restaurant. The speakeasy genre is slightly overdone, but this place still maintains a nice aura and more importantly, the food is great. Reservations are recommended, however.

There is also a nice non-secret bar in a midtown hotel that I was going to recommend. However, I forgot which hotel it is in and I can’t seem to find it online. Will write again if I remember.

November might not be bad. It might not be so crowded, and it seems that you will just miss the insanity that is the Macy’s thanksgiving parade.
