Has anyone been to either the NYSSA High Yield convention, or the Benjamin Graham annual meeting?
i am considering joining NYSSA and going to these events for the reduced rates - Leon cooperman will speak this year with a bunch of other interesting speakers
id like to go to the high yield event if it actually goes through an example of an actual investment from start/finish
for the lazy,
I’d like to join NYSSA but I also don’t want to waste a couple hundred bucks on events that are awful.
An occasional event is ok. Particularly if you’ve never heard professionals speak to other professionals, it can give you a sense of how the material you’ve learned in CFA studies connects to what people actually do when they perform analyses. It’s not a perfect view, of course, but it’s a useful one.
Nyssa is a bit hit and miss, particularly with industry-specific conferences, but I often like their overview presentations.
