It really surprises you that the Nobel committee would prefer liberal democrat candidates over others? Also most of Europe and Asia I can tell you keeps Carter/Gore/Clinton in much higher regard than the Greoge H.W. Bush you may not like it but that is how it is. Also have you looked at why Arafat won the award? He did not win it alone, he was one of three men. I do not know why people never say “When Rabin won the award it lost all credibility” they just point to Arafat. If the progress made in the Oslo Accords continued to where we are today, for sure those three men were more than deserving. Unfortunately it did not, but that still does not mean that the work and the Oslo Accords were not significant. The Nobel committee is not based out of Houston or even NYC. It is based of Sweden and Norway.
Arafat was a terrorist. Rabin was not. That’s pretty simple.
