I am looking for a position. I will be willing to give someone $10,000 / 2 months salary whichever is greater if someone can help me out and land me a position. I will send over my resume , please let me know. I just need the right connections. I am a strong excel guru and have excellent people skills. Please contact me ASAP. Thank you. >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>. I found the post very strange and just wondering if the guy is in ethical violation.
If you are interested in ethical violations take a read through the Goldman Sachs article posted here a couple weeks ago.
It could definitely be an ethics violation, especially if the person taking the offer gives a recommendation without stating the compensation agreement between them. However, it’s mostly a grey area, and besides, if this person had ‘excellent people skills’ he wouldn’t need to pay someone for that recommendation.
It’s rough out there. No arguments against it
this is awesome. so basically he’s going to pay someone so he can work? wtf is the point of that?
There’s nothing much innovative about it. In the olden days, and perhaps now too, people paid large sums to land up a government job in India.
This is not too different from working with a recruiter, except that they are usually paid by the employer, not the employee. Although I wonder what qualifies as “land me a position.” Do I have to do his interviews for him and everything?
He is paying you to be a headhunter.

^^^Of course this is assuming he doesnt have limited capital. Most likely he was paid a severance from Citi and is using that to flip into a new job, which makes sense. I have friends from BofA who were paid severance and then landed immdiate jobs with lower pay, and treated the payout as a Bonus.
send him a message, and his reply is of the type below, then he’s for sure legit: “thank you for you response kind Sir, i look very much to be refer in your firm. i am presently in london but my associate will contact you for wire transfer of your money. kindly send your address, phone number, etc.”

“I have my CFA level 1” Of course he’s in violation.
strippers pay upfront for the priviledge to work at a club
Yes, he’s in violation for calling himself as CFA Level 1. He should have said, "I’m a CFA Level Candidate or I passed the CFA Level 1 exam.
