Office grooming requirements

What are yours? No real rules for me but I try to keep it as clean as possible. I’ve been known to occasionally grow my hair long, have had it almost down to my shoulders a few times and the boss complains but at the end of the day doesn’t really care as long as I keep up the good performance. What kind of “behind-the-scenes” grooming do you do, if you know what I mean? I keep everything trimmed and tidy from head to toe, Patrick Bateman-style.

This is an interesting 2:18am post. I get yelled at for scuffed shoes, being unshaven, and looking hungover.

In the morning if my face is a little puffy I’ll put on an ice pack while doing stomach crunches. I can do 1000 now. After I remove the ice pack I use a deep pore cleanser lotion. In the shower I use a water activated gel cleanser, then a honey almond body scrub, and on the face an exfoliating gel scrub. Then I apply an herb-mint facial mask which I leave on for 10 minutes while I prepare the rest of my routine. I always use an after shave lotion with little or no alcohol, because alcohol dries your face out and makes you look older. Then moisturizer, then an anti-aging eye balm followed by a final moisturizing protective lotion.

I, like ‘Jerome Morrow’, give myself the full body scrub treatment each morning…else I get discovered by the man.

My desk is packed with the following tools: Listerine: Use everyday after lunch and any time I think my breath may be less than stellar. Tide to go Instant Stain Remover: In the event that I get something on my shirt or pants, this little pen is surprisingly effective. My bosses boss borrowed it from me about a month ago, no lie. Dental Floss: Emergencies Fingernail Clippers: If I notice they’re getting a little long. Spare Tie: I’ve never had to use it, but it has both black and brown in it so regardless of my shoe/belt color I should be able to sub it in without looking completely faux pas. Spare undershirt: Never had to use it, but if god forbid the a/c goes out in one of our Dallas summers I can throw this one on once it gets fixed again and I won’t smell like a gym locker. Deodorant: I often go to the gym at lunch and while I have deodorant in my gym bag I keep this one as a back up. There has also been more than one instance that I’ve used it after rushing out the door without putting deodorant on. I used to keep a spare dress shirt in my desk, most dry cleaners will fold rather than hang one for you for an extra charge, but took that home when I brought the bleach pen. Unlike all of my other tools this one needed it’s own drawer because I didn’t want to inadvertently wrinkle it.

…wtf?!

I knew someone would post that little excerpt from American Psycho. This forum is too predictable these days.
