One Year Later

One Year Later Almost one year since Lehman Brothers has declared bankruptcy and what a year it has been. I recount the week one year ago as one of the worse in my young life and hope not one has the same experience I had. 1. Just purchased my first home and Hurricane Ike has its sights on my city. Have not even took the “for sale” sign out of the front yard and my new home may not even be standing by the weekend. 2. Lehman Brothers is looking for 1) Fed to step in or 2) someone to acquire, rumors are Goldman Sachs, Barclays & Bank of America. Bank of America just picked up Merrill Lynch so we took them out of the running and Goldman Sachs was the leader in my department so that was a highlight. Small talk with people in the office said it may not look good but “business as usual” 3. I was set to get married the upcoming weekend. No flights coming or going. Guest list from 120 to 20. Since that week…… Acquired by Barclays and kept job. House was fine. Tied the knot at a later date. Moral of the story…. Could always be worse……Unemployed. Homeless. Single

Used to hate it when we used to receive “Business as usual” emails even 1 month after the bankruptcy!! The WM Division (Lehman-IMD & Neuberger Berman) was trying real hard to sell itself to Barclays Wealth and/or spin-off as an independent unit or better yet get those KKR’s to buy us out. The fall didn’t hurt me personally as I was a temporary worker (consultant) there, so just decided to move my tent to bigger-better bank ;-). The place where I work now has been filing losses since 2007… lol. Planning for yet another tent-move before this month-end.

“Almost one year since Lehman Brothers has declared bankruptcy”?? “Have not even took the “for sale” sign out of the front yard”?? “[O]ne of the worse in my young life”?? The level of discourse on here is astonishing and the stuff above is but one example. Is this the sort of thing that allows one to keep a job at a major financial insititution nowadays? Appalling if so.

Astonishingly low I mean, in case that’s lost on anyone. Really . . .

Is that the best you’ve got - a typo?

Pot/kettle/black

One typo in one post (out of many) is a typo, three typos in one post is more than a typo. Surely even a high school kid can see that.

A fat guy getting shot once will probably experience the same result as a skinny guy getting shot three times.

end of the day as long as you know what I was trying to say… ALL GOOD

Actually I think its the fat guy getting shot three times experiencing the same result as a skinny guy getting shot once. Eitherway, its all the same…

^ sup JOE2010, buddy

Apologies for my posts above; I’m not sure what got into me last night. This is just an Internet message board after all, as someone pointed out.

I tend to err more at 2am and drunk. Fat girls become skinny and attractive + my liver thinks it’s invincible. Not sure how my grammar holds up.
