Opinions about finance rotational programs

So I’ve recently been very interested in corporate finance and I’ve been looking into fortune 500 rotational finance programs. From reading other finance forums such as WSO, it seems that these leadership development programs are a decent place to start (although probably not as good as IB or other more front-office roles). I just want to know your guys’ opinion about these programs. What make these programs different front usual corporate finance positions? I’ve seen a couple sites that look down on the finance division of a bank, but many seem to respect the rotational programs; why is this so? I, myself, have gotten an offer from an IB for its rotational program and would like to see what you guys’ think about it. How are these programs in terms of experience and getting into a top b-school?

I accepted an offer for a financial leadership program at a F500… It will all depend on what other offers you have, and what you are looking to do. I’m sure it will give you great work experience and opportunities when you finish, so make the best of it. If you want to be an investment banker, look for boutique banks that are hiring. Two totally different types of jobs. By the way - why do you post this same message several times both here and WSO? I swear I’ve seen it at least 3 times in the past couple weeks.

get a job… point blank… if several offers then pick one that will help you to develop a good skill set

hes posted it on here a couple of times, probably just finding it hard to make a decision, understandable. Like golden boy says if you have several offers pick the one u will like more and develop you how you want to be developed.

I did one of these programs and it was 24 months… My very first rotation was on a trading desk. I posted full time on desk before my time there ended. Sure I lost out on working in a few other areas but I knew where I wanted to be so did not want to waste any time.
