Ive put together a crude version this on my own but I am looking for an excel model which displays option strategy payouts graphically. basically the user enters in the details of the differnent contracts they are buying and the model produces a graph of what they payout looks like displayed over various prices for the underlying security. Hopefully that makes sense GenY
Thats kind of the right track but is very limited, I need to manipulate all the variables. i am not looking to find out what the best strategy is for the ideas I have. I want to look at my own option strategies and graph what the payout at a given price for the underlying would be. Plus I am doing this in order to draft ideas for an Oil play, i dont think yahoo even recognizes the symbols for crude oil options. GenY

Personally, I would just do the program in Mathematica which would take me like 5 minutes…

I dont have mathematica, i suppose I could go to the lab at my old college and use it. I threw one together in excel that works but isnt very pretty and doesnt have read outs for all the greeks and whatever. I was just curious if their was a free one available somewhere on the web that people use. GenY
You should be able to make this nice on Excel. It’s a good project - just steam away at it.
Along those same lines GenY, I wonder if any of the online brokers have decent enough option tools. You could simply open an account and away you go. I’m guessing not, but does anyone else know?
Ya know, your right like alot of people ive become way too accustom to just being able to pull any information/resources from the web. I am just going to design it exactly how I want it myself. Might learn something while im at it! Good call Joey! GenY
XSellSide, Yah some like Etrade, TradeKing do… unfortunately I cant even open an outside account without all sorts of paperwork and hassel because of my position… maybe when i get laid off in 3 weeks! haha GenY
