Options questions 1

Basic questions: 1) If you buy call, does that mean someone else sold a put? 2) “Buying a put on the euro is same as buying a call on the U.S. dollar, assuming dollar/euro exchanges”? Right or wrong?

If you buy a call, that means someone else had to sell the call (my opinion). I don’t think the other side (call vs. put or put vs. call) matters. I would think you 2nd assumption is correct.

if you buy a call, someone else wrote a call. ie. sold a call. and buying a put on euro is same as buying a call on USD.

right sox… right pepp, wait for the next Options questions
