would never desert my kid, ever. the issue is that I believe the courts do not appreciate the fact that fathers can be as involved in a child’s life as the mother, and are financially penalized (even though mother makes almost as much as dad). it just doesn’t make sense, and is not fair- but I guess no one said life is fair. The fact that she’ll most likely be banking 80% of what I give her kills me.
