Pass list for CFA exam

Hi, Does anyone know if CFA institute publishes a pass list of all the candidates’ names who passed any CFA exam in the last sitting. Most other institutes such as Society of Actuaries publishes a pass list after the exams results are released? I’m sure there should be something on CFA institute website to prevent any false claims by people…any ideas? Thanks

nope, they do not do this untill you actually get the charter.

Thanks for sharing your thought…I learnt that they will only release the information to you if they have the signature of the person who took the exam, to verify the results. I feel it is not fair, since anyone can claim that they have passed and not give you a chance to verify it…I’m so concerned about this since this is happening at my work with a coworker who claims she has passed the CFA level 1 exam, but I’m 101% sure she didn’t. It’s sad to see such manipulations by people, although there is a big chunk of the material devoted to Ethics…anyway…you can only trust, and you can’t win against LIARS…

Surely everyone keeps a printed copy of their “pass” with candidate number and scores on. It is worth looking at every now again to remind yourself, you do not have to go through that again. No one has ever asked or cares that L1 is under my belt, but the printout is available.

Code of Ethics states: Practice and encourage others to practice in a professional and ethical manner that will reflect credit on themselves and the profession. If you have reason to believe that an individual is falsely claiming that he/she has passed a level, then you should probably confront the person and ask him/her to say the truth or prove his/her claims to comply with the Code & Standards. If the person refuses to do so, then you should disassociate yourself from this person and whatever implications of his/her false claim to comply with the Code & Standards. You could also advise your supervisor of the false claim and/ or write to CFA Institute’s professional conduct program regarding the false claim though this step is not necessary to comply with the Code & Standards. Sorry, couldn’t resist :-))

I printed my copy out and taped it up on my desk when I passed. Though, it was annoying being asked why I failed a particular section. My response: “Cause it’s a Mutherf#@&ing hard exam”
