Passed in 3 Months after 5 Years Off

Started studying March 1st. 3hrs each weeknight except Friday. 8+ hours on the weekends. 2 weeks of vacation prior to the test. My wife was very accomodating.

I’m sure others passed with less time, too. For people that find this in the future, it’s never too late.

Elaborate on “accomodating” and include pics.

Sorry I mean, did you use a third party provider? Any other tips?

I studied for about 70 days (and really serious for about 50 days), but took lots of days off and gave up on everything good in life. This was after I passed Level 2 way back in 2011 - and this was my final shot at CFA designation. I am more relieved than anything else that I could bring this chapter to a close finally!!

Accomodating in that she didn’t lose her mind when I asked her to leave me in silence all weekend, every weekend, for months

I read through Schweser in a month. Did some QBank for awhile but found that it wasn’t that helpful. Quality of QBank questions is low, in my opinion.

Started doing CFA EoC questions and found them much more useful. As a result, I then read the entire CFA curriculum and did the EoC questions. After that, practice test after practice test.

Just out of curiousity, how many hours do you think it took you to read through the CFAI curriculum and do the EoC s?

To do all the CFA curriculum reading and all the questions? Probably a month. I’m not a quick reader.

I’ve just got my CFA level 3 results today too - suprisingly a really good pass.

Level 1 in June 2013, Level 2 in June 2014

For Level 1 and Level 2 had 7City and Schweser and went along to maybe half of the Saturday lessions but given I gained the most from the 2 weeks intensive learning at the end this year, decided just to get the 7City online portal and the Schweser books.

2 weeks is all you need to get a good sense of the material and do a few afternoon papers (can just read through / skim-do the morning papers) 9-8pm weekdays 10-6pm weekends.

Oh, that’s music to my ears! I’m assumimg around 3 hours per weekday and about 8 hours per weekend day?

only a month? that is pretty fast to me. Congrats.
